Dear Brother, At a meeting of the first Cong. Ch. & Society at Montclair held on Tuesday June 29, 1870 it was unanimously voted, by each body separately, to request you to become our Pastor and that you receive a salary of Two Thousand dollars per annum from the first of July 1870 together with rent of parsonage, or its equivalent from date of ordination. Should you accept our invitation it would gratify us if you will fix the day for your ordination about the first of October. We can assure you, dear Brother, that this call is as cordial as it is unanimous, and we cannot close this communication without an expression of our personal hopes that you will find its acceptance consistent with your sense of duty.
